Carol Ann Shipley Reagan, 88 passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in Dallas, Texas following an illness. Carol was born February 22, 1936 in Clovis, NM to the home of Thomas Guy Shipley and Eunice Reba Flynn Shipley. She married Lawrence Wendell Reagan on August 4, 1954 in Fort Sumner, NM.
Carol attended House schools and graduated in 1954. She attended Eastern New Mexico University where she received her Bachelors and later her Masters Degree. Carol was a longtime educator. She taught school at Hobbs for 9 years, House for 1 year, and Tucumcari for 15 years.
Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Sumner, along with the Fort Sumner Valley Quilting Club. Her favorite pastime were reading and taking college classes. She earned many hours above her Masters Degree.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell Reagan, a son Monte Reagan, and one sister Helen Meridith Davis.
Survivors include one daughter Paula Reagan of Roanoke, Texas, two sons Larry Reagan and his wife Kathy of Fort Sumner, Lewis Reagan and his wife Roberta of Valley View, Texas. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation hours for family and friends will be Friday, September 20, 2024 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at the Chavez Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 21, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, NM with Dr. Joe Bunce officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Patrick Reagan, Sean Reagan, Scott Reagan, Bennett Reagan, Brian Rector, Bradley Smith, Tell Montoya, and Tedd Tatum.
