Candelaria M. Lucero, 81 of Tecolotito, NM, passed away at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas, NM on February 17, 2022. Candelaria was born on October 11, 1940 in Anton Chico, NM to Hilario Aragon and Dulcinea (Romo) Aragon. Candelaria was raised in Anton Chico, where she also attended school and was a parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church. Candelaria enjoyed walking, sewing and was a great cook. However, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family and friends. Candelaria is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Demecio in 2021 and her brothers: Bruno Aragon, Rick Aragon, Benito Aragon and Secundino Aragon. Candelaria is survived by her sons: Ted Lucero of Tucumcari, NM, Joey (Diane Frey) Lucero of Tecolotito, NM and Jamey (Olivia) Lucero of Tecolotito, NM, her sister: Modesta Navarro of Clovis, NM and her brother: Bill Aragon of Clovis, NM, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa from 12-3pm, with the Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary beginning at 3pm. Cremation will follow with burial of cremains at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Tecolotito at a later date. Urn Bearers will include: Ted Lucero, Joey Lucero, Jamey Lucero, Brandon Lucero, Juan Salas, Samuel Salas and James Rodarte. Services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
