Bryan Kent Woods

Bryan K. Woods, 61 of Logan, NM, passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2023.

Bryan was born to Dean and Mary Ellen Woods, on May 7, 1962 in Odessa, Texas.  Bryan was raised in Amarillo, Texas, where he graduated from Amarillo High School in 1982.  Following graduation, Bryan attended Texas Tech, earning a degree in Business Management.  On November 28, 1998, Bryan married the love of his life and partner, the former Brenda Rae Johnson, in Silt, Colorado.

Bryan’s career included the following avenues: he was the Area Sales Director for Kelly Moore’s Paints in California, he was the HVAC manager for CHS in Denver, Colorado, worked 10 years for Lowe’s Home Improvement as the Loss Prevention Specialist in Amarillo, Texas and most recently, Bryan was the Operations Manager for Loves Truck Stop in Tucumcari, NM.

Bryan was a member of the Arena of Life Cowboy Church and was a member of Family Sorting Association and Amarillo Wildlife Refuge.  In his spare time, Bryan enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting, riding horses and watching movies.  He liked to travel, loved the Denver Broncos, however, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. 

Bryan loved his family and dedicated his life to each and every one of his children and grandchildren. Bryan was witty beyond measure, and his smile could light up a room.  He didn’t know a stranger and was willing to help anyone, despite the circumstance.  Bryan’s character was always jovial, even as he recovered from a surgery or was simply exhausted from work. 

Bryan mastered DIY—by using Duct tape and super glue! He also loved animals—especially horses.  Bryan was always quick to say he loved you…and reminded you every time you spoke to him, how proud he was of you and how much he loved you.

Bryan is preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving Bryan is his loving wife: Brenda, of the family home, his children: Shay (Preston) Ellis of Buena Vista, CO, Lacey Wortman of Amarillo, TX, Kelsey (Ventura) Hernandez of Pampa, TX and his best friend and son: John Punches of Amarillo, TX.  Bryan is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he loved more than life: Garrett Ellis, Ashlynn Ellis, Taylor Wortman, Mirayah Wortman, Kyeson Hernandez, Yelena Hernandez, Rhyker Hernandez and Jacen Punches.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 12PM to 2PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, NM.

Funeral services for Bryan will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 2PM at Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Rosa, NM.  Pastor Ernest Copeland will be officiating.
