Billie Jean Biggers, 58 of Tucumcari, NM passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 24, 2024. 

Billie was born on May 20, 1966 in East St. Louis, Illinois to her biological parents, Dorothy Meyers and Joe Powell. She was raised by her loving parents, Norma (Melling) Simpson and Earl Simpson. Billie was raised in Washington Park, Illinois and attended Greenwood High School, graduating in 1984. She later moved to Paducah, Kentucky, where she met the love of her life, James Biggers, marrying in 1988. Billie would become a mother that same year to her oldest, Jessica in 1988. Her second daughter, Kelly was born in 1991, James (Bubba) in 1993 and Thomas in 1996—Billie enjoyed being a mother to her four beautiful children.

In 2000, Billie made her home in Tucumcari, NM, where she would raise her family and become a grandmother to 10 grandchildren. 

Billie was a loving friend, mother, nana, sister and daughter. She enjoyed camping, family outings, concerts, sporting events her grandchildren competed in, traveling, cookouts, movies and anything her family did and she was a part of.

Billie is preceded in death by her husband: James, daughter: Kelly Biggers, her father: Earl, biological parents: Joe and Dorothy, brothers: Ricky Cook and Aaron Cook, grandson: Jake Goen and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Billie is survived by her mother: Norma Melling of Highland, Il, daughter: Jessica (Jason) Goen, son: James (Stephanie) Biggers, both of Tucumcari, NM and son: Thomas (Ana) Biggers of Ft. Sumner, NM. She is also survived by her siblings: Vicky (John) Carey of Highland, Il and Mark Powell of Bellwill, Fl, her grandchildren: Jaxty Goen, Johnathan Goen, Nicholas Goen, Justin Goen, Robert Gomez, Lana Gomez, Tanner Qualls-Rivera, Trevor Qualls-Rivera, Haiden Biggers and Baylei Biggers, as well as her companion: Blossom and many nephews, nieces family and friends in Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri.

Funeral service for Billie will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10AM at the First Baptist Church in Tucumcari, with Reverend Rusty Kenyon officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM until time of the service at the church.

Interment will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park with James Biggers, Jason Goen, Nicholas Goen, Johnathan Goen, Justin Goen, Robert Gomez and Thomas Biggers serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are: Lana Gomez, Jaxtyn Goen, Haiden Biggers and Baylei Biggers.
