Barbara Kay Boyd, 77 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away Wednesday evening, October 27, 2021 in an automobile accident north of Fort Sumner. She was born in California on March 7, 1944. She grew up in California and later attended college in El Paso, TX. Barbara made her home in the Fort Sumner valley in 1983. She owned and operated Bear Track Gallery in Fort Sumner. She was an artist and attended craft fairs throughout the state. Her pottery creations are sold throughout New Mexico. She was longtime vendor at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Bob Craig in 1998. Barbara is survived by her husband Sam Boyd of Fort Sumner along with many good friends. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremains will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial will be held in Fort Sumner at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
