Antonio Cordova Sr.

Antonio Cordova Sr. (58) of Clovis, New Mexico suddenly passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Clovis, New Mexico. 

Antonio Cordova Sr. was born Saturday, June 4,1966 in the family home on La Loma in Anton Chico, New Mexico to parents Nicasio Cordova and Maria Teresa Jaramillo - Cordova. Antonio is preceded in eternal rest by both of his parents, brothers Nicasio 'Nick' Cordova and Ramon O. Cordova, along with their sister, Annabelle Cordova. 

Antonio grew up in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. He raised his three eldest children in Amarillo, Texas before moving to Garden City, Kansas then finally Anton Chico, New Mexico to raise his two youngest daughters. His children cherish memories of him hosting birthday parties where he'd grill and offered an abundance of cake. Fathers come in all forms. Antonio loved each of his children and expressed pride in them all. Good or bad, Antonio undoubtably left a lasting impression on his children to rear them in the correct direction to be great parents to his grandchildren. 

Antonio was affectionately known to his loved ones as "Tonio" or "Tio Tono." His goofy demeanor could make you laugh or shake your head in amusement at the many memorable stories he was a part of. His sense of humor will be missed. Tonio was a very hard worker, acquiring skills in meat packing, construction and automotives. Once known as someone with quite - the fashion sense, Tonio played as hard as he worked. He enjoyed dressing up to enjoy music, laughter and a cold beer. Tonio loved to eat and had quite a sweet tooth. Stacked enchiladas, Little Debbie snacks and candy were some of his favorite treats. Our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and godfather will live on affectionately in our hearts and memories. 

 Antonio leaves behind five children: Anthony Robert Cordova Jr. (Erica Cordova), Victoria Renea Cordova-Mendoza (Miguel Mendoza Sr.), Samantha Veronica Cordova-Jojola (Daniel Jojola), Antonia Michelle Preciosa Cordova and Ariana Nycole Cordova; eight grandchildren: Miguel Eduardo Mendoza II, Natalia Raquel Mendoza, Analysia Cordova Jojola, Alienna Jojola, Manuel Jojola, and Miguel Cordova, Milagros Cordova and Ariela Cordova; five siblings: Ester Mata, Christina Sena, Teresa Martinez, John Cordova Sr., and Hector Cordova, and a Godson, Cipriano Martinez. 

In honor of Antonio's memory, Viewing will be Friday, June 21, 2024, at 9AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM. 

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial, will begin at 10AM on Friday, June 21, 2024, at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM, with Father Timothy Meurer officiating the service.

Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico, NM with the following serving as pallbearers: Antony Robert Cordova Jr. (Son), Miguel Eduardo Mendoza II (Grandson), Cipriano Martinez (Godson), Johnny Ray Cordova (Nephew), Vicente Cordova (Nephew), Maria Martinez (Niece), Maricruz Cordova (Niece), and Gilbert Lucero (cousin).
