Catherine Martinez

Catherine F. Martinez, age 48, passed away November 11, 2007 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Santa Rosa, NM. Catherine was born October 3, 1959, in Tucumcari, NM to the home of Domingo and Viola Lopez Pacheco. She was reared and attended schools in Tucumcari. Catherine married James Anthony Martinez on July 25, 2005. She was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where she was always seen assisting Father Leo with the mass. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, served as a Eucharistic Minister and recently became a steward at St.Anne’s. Catherine loved her church, her God, riding motorcycles and puppy. Survivors include her husband James Martinez of the family home in Tucumcari, her son; Felix Montano and wife Vanessa of Tucumcari, daughter; Davina McDaniel and husband Michael of Calhoun, GA, grandson; Donovan McDaniel, parents; Domingo and Viola Pacheco of Tucumcari; 7 brothers, Michael Pacheco and wife Fay of Houston, TX; Benny Lopez of Springfield, MO; Ricky Pacheco of Houston, TX; Gilbert Pacheco and wife Beatrice of Louisville, KY; James Pacheco of Plainview, TX; Larry Pacheco of Calhoun, GA; John Pacheco and wife Andrea of Houston, TX; three sisters Georgia Franco and husband George of Calhoun, GA; Christine Culvey and husband Mike of Calhoun, GA and Andrea Pacheco of Tucumcari, NM. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends that will miss Catherine very much. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, at 8:30 PM from St. Anne’s Church in Tucumcari. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 15, at 10:00 AM also from St. Anne’s Church with Father Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Pacheco, Bennie Lopez, Richard Pacheco, James Pacheco, Larry Pacheco, Gilbert Pacheco, John Pacheco, Connie Garcia, Julie Martinez, and Juanita Lawrence.
