Elizabeth Ann Hobbs

Elizabeth Ann Hobbs, 87 of Bosque Farms, NM died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at her home following an illness. She was born November 3, 1922 in Fort Sumner to the home of Guy D. and Maude (Brown) Lewis. She attended school in Fort Sumner. Elizabeth married Bill Hobbs on New Year’s Eve 1945 in Clovis, NM. She worked as a waitress in Fort Sumner and as a cook at the Pecos Valley Care Center. She later worked for the Greyhound Bus Factory in Roswell. Elizabeth was active in the Los Lunas School System as a member of the Foster Grandparent Program. She was a member of the Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, making crafts, cooking and reading. She made her home in Fort Sumner, Roswell, Los Lunas and Bosque Farms. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Bill Hobbs in 1957; her father Guy Lewis in 1967; mother Maude Lewis in 1922 and brother Vivian Lewis in 1969. Survivors include a daughter Nancy Raley and husband Don of Bosque Farms, NM; three sons Bill Hobbs and wife Anne of Midland, TX; Robert Hobbs and wife Vickie of Roswell, NM; Richard Hobbs and wife Jackie of Grants, NM. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2010 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Sumner, NM. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Raley, Shane Raley, Isaac Hobbs, Michael Hobbs, Bill Griffin, Craig Baca, John Cooper, Paul Rindahl, Jacob Girahm and Mike Dunne.
