Joe Chris Sandoval

Joe Chris Sandoval, age 59, passed away on June 13, 2009 at his residence in Tucumcari following an illness. Joe Chris was born July 6, 1949 in Las Vegas, NM to the home of Carlos and Dolores (Nelson) Sandoval. He was reared in Newkirk, Santa Rosa and Tucumcari. Joe Chris enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music and spending time with his grandkids. He married Dinah Beltran on October 1, 1973 in Tucumcari. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Priscilla Palominos who passed away on May 30, 2009, his brothers Arthur Sandoval, Trancito Sandoval and Ben Sandoval. Survivors include his wife Dinah Sandoval of the family home in Tucumcari, his children; Khrishana Sandoval of San Diego, CA, Jo Jo Sandoval of Tucumcari, Bianca Arias of San Diego and Amanda Torres and husband Tat of Garland, TX, his brothers and sisters; Tina Maestas of Tucumcari, Gloria Guevara of Albuquerque, Richard Sandoval and wife Erlinda of Santa Rosa and Jose (Danny) Sandoval and wife Ruby of Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Shawn and Shanelle Martinez, Santiago and Seth Arias, Sierra Aubrey, Jazlyn Sandoval, Michael Crespin, Nicholas Crespin and 1 great grandchild Matthew Crespin, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place, a rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 18, at 7:00 pm from St. Anne’s’ Catholic Church in Tucumcari. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, June 19, 2009 from St. Anne’s Church, Father Hyginus Anuta will officiate. Burial of cremains will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park.
