Celina Maria Montano, 81 a resident of Fort Sumner, NM since 1996 died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at her home following an illness. She was born March 30, 1928 in Blanco, NM to the home of Benito and Abelina Archuleta. She was reared and attended schools at Blanco and Turley, NM. She made her home for many years in Durango, CO and Aztec, NM. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Durango and Aztec. According to her family she was an excellent cook, she spent her days with her family and enjoyed watching her favorite TV programs, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Golden Girls. She was preceded in death by her husband Vince Montano on December 5, 1995; a son Paul Henry Archuleta, and two brothers Cisto and Ephanio Archuleta. Survivors include a daughter Georgia Dutcher of Clovis, NM; two sons Kenneth Montano and wife Mary Alice of Fort Sumner; Monty Montano of Utah; one brother Dick Archuleta of Aztec, NM. A private family visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from Chavez Funeral Home. Cremation will follow follow. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date in Durango, CO.
