Consuelo Maria Lucero

Consuelo Maria Lucero, 57 of Santa Rosa, NM died Monday, October 01, 2007 at Guadalupe Hospital following an illness. Connie was born March 4, 1950 in Santa Rosa to the home of Preciliano and Julia (Almendarez) Salazar. She was raised in Albuquerque where she graduated from West Mesa High School. Connie married Christian Lucero in 1970 at Santa Rosa. Connie worked as a Home Care Provider, she worked for Victory Home Care and later for Consumer Direct Service. She was a member of the Santa Rosa Church of Christ. Connie enjoyed working in her yard, and caring for her grandchildren. Connie is preceded in death by her father; four sisters; Rosa Salazar, Jenny Salazar, Rosa Maria, and Linda Garcia; and a brother, Joe Salazar. Survivors include her husband Christian Lucero; her mother, Julia Salazar; two daughters, Christine Lucero and Angela Lucero all of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are four sisters; Josie Salazar, Lucille Lucero, Lucy Salazar and Maria Frances Troxell; six brothers; Joe Nick Salazar, Benny Salazar, Billy Salazar, Lawrence Salazar, Ramon Baca, and Joe Baca; and two grandchildren; Michael Garcia and Matthew Saiz. An evening prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Roger Craiker officiating. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, October 5, 2007 at The Church of Christ in Santa Rosa, New Mexico with Mr. Fritz Lucero Officiating. Burial to follow at the Saint Joseph Cemetery.
