Jessie O Chavez

Jessie Olivas Chavez, age 84, passed away November 18, 2006 at her residence in Albuquerque follwing an illness. Jessie was born May 16, 1922 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Alberto G. and Margarita Olivas Chavez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Jessie married Frank O. Chavez on September 9, 1947 in Santa Rosa. She worked for Sun Bell in Albuquerque and later worked for the New Mexico State Fair for 9 years and was a homemaker. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents and 2 infant sisters. Survivors include her husband Frank Chavez of the family home in Albuquerque, daughter; Lucille N. Chavez, son; Steve J. Chavez, granddaughter; Chrishelle Gomez, all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters; Ernie O. Chavez and wife Rose of Albuquerque, Albert Chavez and wife Diane of Santa Rosa, Fernie Chavez of Santa Rosa, Ramona Padilla and husband Lalo of Vaughn, Lizzie Romero and husband Carlos of Santa Rosa, Corrine Chavez, Conuselo Aragon, Annie Campos and husband Leroy all of Santa Rosa, Margaret Padilla and husband Victor of Albuqueruqe as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 7:00 pm from St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, at 10:00 am also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Serving as Pallbearers will be her nephews; Chris Padilla, Ernest Marquez, Delbert Marquez, Andrew Chavez, Louie Padilla and Robert Campos.
