Rosetta Pruitt

On January 19th, 2007, Rosetta Pruitt passed away at the home of her daughter in Bradenton, Florida. She was born November 6, 1934 and married Keith Pruitt on December 24th, 1952. They were married for 53 years before he passed away in December of 2006. She was also preceded in death by a son, Garry Pruitt and her mother, Irene Bennett. Rosie is survived by four children. Debbie Pruitt of Hobbs, NM; LaJuana Spaeth of Bradenton, FL; Evelyn Schultz of Pinedale, WY and Larry Pruitt of Staunton, VA. She has six grandchildren and two great grandsons. She is also survived by seven brothers and one sister. Rosie will always be remembered for her smile and welcoming heart. She and Keith were local business owners. They moved to Santa Rosa in 1965 from Melrose NM and operated Pruitt Construction. They also were involved with Purina feeds, a beauty shop she owned and operated with her sister, DeVerl Murray and most recently, the Ramblin’ Rose RV Park. Services will be held on Friday, January 26th at 2:00 pm at the Santa Rosa Church of Christ, located at 3rd and Pecos. The Rev. Roger Craiker will officiate and arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
