Alan Carter

Richard Alan Carter, 51 a former resident of Carlin, Nevada died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at his home in Fort Sumner. Alan was born November 6, 1955 in Carlsbad, NM the son of L.C. Carter and the former Billie Ann Norman. He worked for many years as a Miner in Nevada. He was also a Karate instructor in Carlin, NV and served as a EMS First Responder for the Mining Company. Alan served in the US Army from 1973-1976 with the 57th Engineer Company, US Army Europe. He made his home in Fort Sumner in September 2006. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his son Christopher Carter, a daughter Chelsea Carter both of Spring Creek, NV. His father L.C. Carter and step mother Susan Carter of Fort Sumner; a brother Mike Carter, sister Paula Carter, one grandchild and his fiancé Terri Coleman and her children Mindie Hudson, Jessica Hudson, and Robert Malone. Cremation has taken place, no local services are planned. Arrangements were under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. (505) 355-2311
