Rosary: 7PM Sunday 9/9/07 Mass: 10AM Monday 9/10/07 Connie Marie Aragon, 64 of Santa Rosa died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Guadalupe County Hospital. She was born February 10, 1943 in Santa Rosa to the home of Alberto Gallegos Chavez and the former Margarita Olivas. Connie was reared and attended school in Santa Rosa. She married Lino Aragon in Santa Rosa. Connie suffered from a disability most of her adult life. She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, painting, and crocheting. She always kept a spotless home. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa and served as St. Rose of Lima Fiesta Queen as a teenager. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Lino Aragon in 1976; her parents; a son Alfred “Alpo” Aragon in 1996; two infant sisters Delia and Rosenda Chavez and a sister Jessie Chaez in 2006. Survivors include a granddaughter Noel N. Lopez of Santa Rosa; a step-son and step-daughter Nathan Lopez and Kimberly Lopez of Tucumcari; three great-grandchildren Breana, Joshua, and Isiah Lopez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are five sisters Ramona Padilla of Vaughn, NM; Lizzie Romero; Corrine Chavez and Annie Campos all of Santa Rosa; Margaret Padilla of Albuquerque; three brothers Ernesto O. Chavez of Albuquerque; Albert Chavez and Fernie Chavez both of Santa Rosa along with numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2007 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 10, 2007 from St. Rose of Lima with Father Irby Nichols officiating burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Nathan Lopez, Kennedy Marquez, Louie Padilla, Dennis Romero, Andrew Chavez, LeRoy Chavez, Steve Chavez, Olivia Armijo, and Vickey Carroll. Honorary bearers will be all her nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 11AM to 5PM and Sunday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home. All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S. Third Street; Santa Rosa, New Mexico.
