Ramon Aragon

Ramon Aragon, age 58, passed away February 26, 2007 at his residence in Tucumcari following an illness. Ramon was born June 20, 1948 in Tucumcari, NM to the home of Jose P. and Petrita Mora Aragon. He was reared and attended schools in Tucumcari. Ramon served in the United Stated Army. He married Margaret Hernandez on August 5, 1968 in El Paso, TX. Ramon loved riding motorcycles, horses, hunting, fishing, working with leather, playing poker and loved his family dearly. He was a member of the VFW and DAV. Ramon is preceded in death by his granddaughter; Erika M. Aragon and his parents; Jose P. Aragon and Petrita Apodaca. Survivors inlcude his wife Margaret of the family home in Tucumcari, his children; Amy Gutierrez and husband Steve, Isabel Jones and husband Richard, Ramon Aragon, Jr. and wife Lila all of Tucumcari, Jose Aragon and wife Francesof Albuquerqe, his brothers; Florencio Aragon and wife Carmen of Tucumcari, Rudolpho Aragon and wife Bertha of Las Cruces and Mike Aragon and wife Theo of Albuquerque, sisters; Lucy Salas of Tucumcari, Celina Rivera and husband Frank of Belen, Celsa Chavez, Mary Jane Alarid and husband Casey all of Amarillo, TX. Also surviving is his brother in law; Ernest Hernandez and wife Marilu of Las Cruces, sister in law; Santana Aragon of Tucumcari, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Wendesday, February 28, at 7:00 PM from St.Anne's Church in Tucumcari. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 1, at 10:00 AM also from St.Anne's Church with Father Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be Albert Archuleta, Arturo Maldonado, Orlando Hernandez, Ernest J.C. Hernandez, Willie Lucero and Randall Jones. Servng as Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Martinez, John F. Aragon, Casey Jimenez, Marty Aragon, Jimmy Rivera, Miguel Maynez and Wilfred Archuleta.
