Cipriano Antonio Perez, age 84, passed away on August 31, 2010 at his residence in Encino following an illness. Cipriano was born on November 5, 1925 in Encino, NM to the home of Victor Sr. and Angelita Tenorio Perez. He was reared and attended schools in Encino. He served in the United States Navy for two years primarily in the Asiatic Pacific Area; he received the WW II Victory medal. Cipriano was a longtime cattle and sheep rancher in the Encino area. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, a former member of the New Mexico Wool Growers Association, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and the American Legion. Cipriano traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Spain. He loved all kind of sports and would never miss any of his grandkids’ games. Cipriano was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Victor Perez, Jr., Andy Perez, Augustine Perez; sons Victor L. Perez and Larry C. Perez; great grandson, Matthew Horner, and former wife Gloria Phyllis Harder Perez. Survivors include his wife Corine Perez of the family home in Encino; his daughter, Lydia Perez Romo and husband Sam of Albuquerque; his brother Ernest E. Perez and wife Jewel of Encino; his sister Mercedes Perez Cravens and husband Leroy of Encino; sister in law, Bobbie Perez of Santa Fe; Daughter in Law, Lizzie Perez of Las Vegas, NM. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren; Lisa Sandoval, Ana Horner, Marla Perez, Isaac Perez, Abran Perez, Marissa Leeds, and Larry C. Perez. 13 great grandchildren Joshua Sandoval, Jeremy Sandoval, Shaina Sandoval, Collin Horner, Carson Horner, Adrianna Gatt, Michael Trujillo, Arianna Perez, Maya Perez, Giana Perez, Brandy Leeds, Dax Leeds, and Camilla Perez, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 7:00 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Encino. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM also from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at the Encino Cemetery. All services for Mr. Perez are entrusted to the Chavez Funeal Home of Santa Rosa.
