Maria Antonia Lucero

Maria Antonia Lucero, age 53, passed away August 8, 2006 at the Univeristy Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Antonia was born May 20, 1953 in Santa Rosa to the home of Juan F. and Estefanita Gutierrez Lucero. Antonia was a special person and was always seen walking around town. She loved animals and especially feeding stray cats and dogs. Her final wish was for her family to continue feeding her stray animals. Antonia was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed. She is preceded in death by her father and her maternal grandmother Bernardita Gutierrez. Survivors include her mother Estefanita Lucero of the family home in Santa Rosa, brothers; Fritz Lucero and wife Lucille of Albuquerque, Abel Lucero of Santa Rosa, Christian Lucero and wife Consuelo of Santa Rosa, Tomas Lucero of the family home, Ernest Lucero of Santa Rosa, Arthur Lucero of Santa Rosa, her sister Irene Anderson and husband Monty of Grand Junction, CO. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. A Eulogy Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, at 7:00 PM from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
