Guadalupe M. "Lupe" Baca of Anton Chico, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at St. Vincents Hospital in Santa Fe following an extended illness. Lupe is preceded in death by her parents; Alfonso Montano and Estella Maestas Montano, her brother; Tomas Montano, Nephews; Tommy Garcia, Manuel Montano, Steven Montano and Derrick Padilla, her niece; Rachel Garcia, brothers in law; Julian and Roberto Baca. She is survivied by her daughter Carmen Sullivan and husband Joey, grandchildren; Joseph, Mark and Samantha and Carmen's Father Cipriano Baca all of Anton Chico, her sister; Mary Tita Garcia and husband Oracio of Anton Chico, three brothers; Alfonso Montano and wife Grace of Pueblo, CO, Orlando Montano and Rita of Tecolotito, Delfino Montano and wife Rosa of Anton Chico, close friend Roland Urban. Also surviving are her brothes in law; Jose Baca and wife Augustina of Belen, Delfino Baca and wife Flora of Tecolotito; Florencio Baca and wife Mary of Anton Chico, Manuel Baca and wife Inez of Los Gallinas, Tomas Baca and wife Cleo of Las Vegas, NM, George Baca and wife Mary of Las Vegas, NM, sister in law; Anne Baca of Anton Chico as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lupe was born on November 3, 1941 in Anton Chico. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she retired after 32 years as Secretary of the Anton Chico School. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, at 7:00 PM from the St. Joseph Church in Anton Chico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, at 11:00 AM also from St. Joseph Church with Father Patrick Duffy officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Anton Chico. Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Montano, Ralph Montano, Daniel Montano, Alfonso Montano, Jr., Floyd Montano, Louie Cordova, Edwin Baca, Robert Urban, Charlie Montano and Tommy Rivera. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her beloved grandchildren; Joseph, Samantha, Mark, as well as J.R. Urban and Sharla Trujillo.
