Josie “Fina” Pacheco, 72 of Santa Rosa, NM died Sunday, September 05, 2010 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. She was born March 27, 1938 in Puerto de Luna, NM to the home of Lucio and Arcelia (Flores) Abeyta. She was raised in Santa Rosa where she attended Santa Rosa Public Schools. She married Orlando Pacheco on June 9, 1956 in Santa Rosa. Josie worked for Santa Rosa Public Schools for 26 years in the school cafeteria retiring in 2001. Josie was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with her friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; three infant children and a brother Lucio “Chio” Abeyta. Survivors include her husband Orlando Pacheco of Santa Rosa; a son Paul Pacheco and wife Angel of Santa Rosa; two daughters Sylvia Marquez of Santa Rosa and Molly Pacheco Richardson and husband George of Clovis; four sisters Margie Abeyta, Frances Lopez, Helen Abeyta, Mary Rose Abeyta and a brother Herman Abeyta of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and many friends. A family rosary will be held Wednesday, September 8 at 7:00 at the Chavez Funeral Home chapel. A second Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2010 from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna with Donna Rivera and Maranda Morales (grand-daughter)praying both rosary services. Mass will be celebrated from the church at 9:00 AM, Friday, September 10, 2010 with Father Joseph Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Ernest Marquez, Joe Garcia Jr., Melissa Pacheco, Leslie Herrera, David Marquez Jr., Slick Garcia, Ricardo Pacheco, Jonathan Garcia, Jason Gutierrez and Jackie Gutierrez.
