Estella Lovato of Fort Sumner, NM was born in Cuervo, NM to the home of Filiberto Olivas and the former Teodocia Romo. She died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Her family moved to Clovis, NM where she attended school. Stella married Enrique Lovato on September 7, 1976 in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in California for many years. Stella was employed for Rich’s Apparel in Carmichael, CA for several years; she also worked as a book keeper for a carpet store in Sacramento, CA; her last employment was as a book keeper with California Wholesale Electrical in Los Angeles, CA. Stella and Enrique moved to Fort Sumner in 1989 where she enjoyed gardening, reading, and working outdoors. Stella was a true volunteer, she served on the De Baca County Chamber of Commerce where she was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award ; she was also a Pink Lady with the De Baca General Hospital Auxiliary where she served as President; she also was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary for several years. Stella is preceded in death by her parents; a sister Mary Lou Ruiz and a brother Frank Olivas. Survivors include her husband Enrique Lovato of Fort Sumner; a son Angelo Holt of Norwalk, CA; a sister Mary Jane Bunce of Santa Rosa, NM and two brothers Junior Olivas of Utah and Genaro Olivas of Arizona along with one granddaughter Cathy Holt of Sacramento, CA, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from the church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery.
