Leroy "J.R." Segura Jr.

Leroy "J.R." Segura, age 23, of Clovis, NM, died Friday, August 4, 2006 while serving in Iraq. He was born March 22, 1983 to Leroy and Sandra Martinez Segura in Ft. Sumner, NM. He was a 2001 graduate of Clovis High School, known for his cross country running, and was currently serving active duty as a Sergeant in the US Army. His hobbies include music, water sports, and being with friends. He is survived by his parents, Leroy & Sandra Segura of Clovis; a sister, Michele Segura of Mountain Home, ID; two brothers, Jake Segura; and Symon Segura, both of Clovis; his grandmother, Celia Martinez of Ft. Sumner; a nephew, Andrew Martinez, eight uncles, Sandy Martinez, Randy Martinez, Gabriel Baca, Andy Martinez, Fred Segura, Benny Segura, Lorenzo Segura, and Alex Segura; and one aunt, Yolanda Benagay. A rosary has been scheduled for Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2006 with Father Carlos Chavez and Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of ECHO CO 2/7 IN BN CBTEN, with honors provided by ALPHA CO 717TH DISTRO CO BSB CSB (ME)-. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerome Segura, Jake Segura, Lorenzo Segura, Andy Martinez, Timothy Segura. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis.
