Melissa Lang Beaumont, 52 of Fort Sumner and formerly of Santa Rosa died Monday, July 5, 2010 at Heartland Continuing Care Center in Portales, NM following an illness. She was born October 19, 1957 in Germany to the home of James B. Lang and the former Edna Mae Lindley who were stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. Melissa was raised in Lynwood, CA where she graduated from Lynwwod High School in 1976. She was raised in the Catholic faith. She made her home in Santa Rosa in 1982. She worked as an aide at Guadalupe County Hospital; she also worked at Truck Stop of America, Motel 6 and the Holiday Inn. Most recently she worked as a Home Health Care provider. Melissa has been in ill health for since 2007. She made her home in Fort Sumner for a short time before entering the Heartland Care Center in Portales. Melissa loved her family, especially her grandchldren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Kathleen Lang in 2002. Survivors include a son Jason Beaumont of Moriarty, NM; a daughter Jennifer Lynn Madera and husband Luis of Santa Rosa; six grandchildren Shane Madrid, Nathaniel Beaumont, Desire Madera, Estaban Madera, Jordan Gallegos and Jason Romero. Also surviving is a brother James S. Lang of Santa Rosa. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 8, 2010 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Rosa with Deacon Marvin Marquez officiating.
