Lucille Padilla

Lucille Padilla, 73 of Las Cruces, NM died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. She was born Oct. 3, 1932 in Colonias, NM to the home of Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Ulibarri. She was reared in Guadalupe County and attended schools at Santa Rosa. Lucille married Carlos Padilla in 1953. They made their home in Puerto de Luna for many years. Lucille made her home in Las Cruces in 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and a nephew. Lucille is survived by four sons, Carlos of Las Cruces, NM; Mark of Chaparral, NM; Peter of Las Vegas, NM and Ted of Albuquerque, NM. Four daughters, Veronica of Albuquerque, NM; Olivia of California; Cynthia of Santa Fe, NM; and Anna of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving Lucille are eight grandchildren, Alicia, Rodrigo, Alexandra, Miguel, Brandon, Sarah, Carla and David. And five great grandchildren, Steven, Milo, Jade, Tylia and Fernando. Rosary services will be held Thursday, September 7th in Las Cruces with a funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2006 from Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna with Father Irby Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
