William M. Guy "Bill", passed away unexpectedly in Honolulu, Hawaii, September 28, 2006, due to complications after heart surgery. He was born to Fannie Bell Guy and Hillard Joseph Guy on June 22, 1942 in Santa Rosa, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Emma Faye Dudrey, brother in law; E. W. Dudrey and sister in law; Donna Guy. He is survived by his brother; Hillard J. Guy of Boulder, CO, and his niece Jolene Guy Rodastis and family, nephews Lary Guy and Family and Ron Guy all of Colorado. Also surviving him are his niece, Dr. Ellen Dudrey Marsden and family from El Paso, TX, Fay Dudrey Rogers and family and nephew William A. Dudrey from Santa Rosa, and many wonderful family members, friends and co-workers. Upon graduation from Santa Rosa High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War. He remained a proud Marine for the rest of his life. He attended New Mexico State University and upon graduating with a BBA Degree in accounting, began working for the National Defense Audit and traveled the world with his job until his retirement in 1993. Bill was awarded the Nations second highest Civil Service Award in 1975 for his assistance in operating the Evacuation Center at the Defense Attache Compound during the evacuation of the US Embassy in Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War. After retirement he returned to Santa Rosa for about 5 years and volunteered many long hours as Emergency Manager for Guadalupe County and was a proud member of the Puerto De Luna Volunteer Fire Department. Bill began working as an auditor contracted to the government and lived in Seoul, Korea until his death. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge #51 and Sunshine Chapter #44 Order of Eastern Star in Santa Rosa. He genuinely enjoyed his life and loved his many friends and family members. He will be missed by all. Church services will be held at the Santa Rosa Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, with interment immediately following at the Evergreen Cemetery. Lunch will be served by the Eastern Star at the Masonic Hall following the interment. All services are under the direction of the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
