Jack Lynch, 84 of Santa Rosa, NM died Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home following an illness. He was born November 12, 1925 in Amherst, TX the son of Elmer and Willis Pearl (Black) Lynch. He attended schools at Amherst and Paducah, TX. He left school before graduation and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served from November 2, 1943 until his honorable discharge on February 19, 1946. His citations include the WW II Victory Medal and the American Area Medal. Jack worked as a motorcycle police officer for the City of Amarillo for five years; he worked 41 years as a journeyman high line utility worker. He worked for several years with Southwestern Public Service in Amarillo, Gate City Electric in Childress, TX and a high line company in Bisbee, AZ. Jack married Lorene Still on September 15, 1978 in Clovis, NM. They made their home in Santa Rosa, NM in 1992. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church in Santa Rosa. He loved his family first, enjoyed motorcycles, mountain bikes, fishing, crossword puzzles, reading Louis L’Amour, playing his guitar and was an accomplished artist. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-parents Wilma Lynch and George Redford. Survivors include his wife Lorene Lynch of the home in Santa Rosa; two sons Kevin Lynch of Houston, TX; Billy Lynch and wife Marka of Santa Rosa; three daughters Darolyn Lynch of Pensacola, FL; Jacquelyn Chadick and husband Rick of Claude, TX; Dana Toller of Midland, TX; step-sons Oran Carrol Jr. and wife Carmen of McKinny, TX and William Carrol and wife Diane of Throckmorton, TX; a brother Dewayne Lynch of Arizona and Mary Ann Jamison of Camp Verde, AZ. Also surviving are ten grandchildren Stacy Durham, Stormie Durham, Braxton Chadick, Holden Chadick, Caden Chadick, Mariah Lynch, Katherine Carrol, Jaclyn Carrol, Rosalyn Carrol and Ashlyn Carrol. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 25, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery in Santa Rosa, NM with Rev. Rick Chadick officiating.
