Luperto Garcia

Luperto Garcia, age 76, passed away at his residence in Alamogordo on February 27, 2010. Luperto was born on May 6, 1933 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Julian and Florinda (Chavez) Garcia. Luperto served in the U.S. Army from 1954 through 1955. He married Martha Baca on June 9, 1969 in Santa Rosa. Luperto loved his coffee breaks with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha, a brother Lee Garcia, two sisters; Otilia Flores and Frances Apodaca, granddaughter; Shannon Garcia Rodriguez, brother’s in law; Mike Baca, Pete Apodaca, Victor Flores and Venancio Baca. Survivors include his daughter; Joann Paiz and husband Tony of Albuquerque, three sons; Rick Garcia of Los Lunas, Jessie Garica and wife Venus of Alamogordo, Eric Garcia of Albuquerque, one sister; Susie Baca of Vaughn, four brothers; Andy Garcia and wife Carmen of San Diego, CA, Ted Garcia and wife Ramona also of San Diego, CA, Richard Garcia of Vaughn, Larry Garcia and wife June of Alto, NM and a sister in law; Tina Garcia of Vaughn. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held Tuesday, March 2, at 7:00 PM from St. Mary’s Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 3, at 11:00 AM also from St. Mary’s Church in Vaughn with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Pallbearers will be Tommy Apodaca, Michael Baca, Tranquelino Trujillo, Richard Garcia, Jr., Jeffery Garcia and Jimmy Apodaca.
