Edwina Rose Aguilar, age 48, passed away peacefully at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Edwina was born on September 7, 1961 in Vaughn NM to the home of Jose Cipio and Mary Julia (Pena) Aguilar. She was reared and attended schools in Vaughn. Edwina was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She liked to embroider, play board games, dominos and coloring with her grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son; Andres Aguilar and wife Tamara Madrid of Vaughn, her daughter; Nadia Aguilar and husband Daniel Mandier of Big Spring, TX, her brother; Herman Joe Aguilar and wife Catrina of Big Spring, TX, her sisters; Mary Ellen Aguilar of Vaughn, Esther Shank and husband Donald of Big Spring, TX. Also surviving her 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, at 10:00 AM from St. Mary’s Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 11:00 AM with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Adam Aguilar, Cipio Aguilar, Herman Aguilar, Don Shank, Daniel Mondier, Rosella Lopez and Joseph Baca. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Edwina’s grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews. All of Edwina’s services have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
