Leonorcita C. Sena

Leonorcita C. Sena, age 93, a longtime resident of Borica, NM passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Guadalupe County Hospital Following an illness. Leonorcita was born November 13, 1912 at Yeso Creek, NM to the home of Faustin Casaus and Veneranda Archuleta Casaus. She was reared and attended schools in Yeso. She married Trinidad Sena in August 1938. She and her husband ranched in the Borica area for many years. She liked to crochet and embroider. Se was a very generous and giving person. Leonorcita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Trinidad, her daughter; Veronica Sena; a step son Tomey E. Sena, and her sister Mela Casaus. Survivors include her children; Dora J. Sena of the family home in Borica, Isabel Tafoya and husband Candido of Portales, Helen Wilkinson and husband Fred of Dallas, TX, Viola Salazar and husband Eddie of Santa Rosa, Linda Lopez and husband Lupe of Clovis, Ted Sena and wife Rosie of Dallas, TX, Faustin Sena and wife Shirley of Edgewood, Ralph Sena of the family home in Borica and a step-daughter; Sally Chavez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are her sisters; Emilia Grzelachowski of Rio Rancho and Maggie Eye of Clovis, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary Services will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 wth Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at San Isidro Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Tim Lopez, Thomas Tafoya, Ronnie Tafoya, Christopher Salazar, Johnny Chavez, Marsha Salazar, Ted Edward Sena and Clifford Wilkinson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan Salazar, Robert Tafoya, Chris Sena, David Sena, Robin Jackson and Elizabeth Kiser. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
