Joe Griego

Joe Griego, age 76, passed away on April 17, 2010 at his home in Tucumcari following an illness. Joe was born on October 13, 1933 in Mosquero, NM to the home of Victor and Maria (Archuleta) Griego. He was reared and attended schools in Mosquero. Joe married Dora Aragon on June 7, 1956 in Mosquero. They made their home in Tucumcari in 1963. Joe was a self employed mechanic. He worked for 7-A feedlot and also worked in the Dairy Industry. He enjoyed fishing and hiking. Joe was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mosquero. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters; Edalia Griego, Mary Navarro, Stella Arguello, Ida Griego, brothers; Tony Griego and Emilio Griego and a grandson; Timothy Madrid, Jr. Survivors include his wife Dora of the family home in Tucumcari, his daughters; Rhonda Roberts and husband Eddie of Clovis, Patty Griego and husband Gilbert of Tucumcari, Donna Madrid and husband Bobby of Tucumcari. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Denise Reid and husband Johnny of Tucumcari, and Jose Madrid and wife Terri of Seattle, WA and his sister; Lenora Gonzalez of Mosquero. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, April, 22, at 7:00 PM from St. Anne's Church in Tucumcari. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 23, at 10:00 also from St. Anne's Church with Father Hyginus Anuta officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Johnny Reid, Gilbert Pacheco, Bobby Naranjo, Eddie Roberts, Jose Madrid and J.J. Roberts. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be; Timmy Reid, Addison Madrid, Iliana Reid and Izabela Reid. All services for Mr. Griego have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
