Lauteria M. Pacheco

Lauteria M. Pacheco, 87 of Fort Sumner, NM died April 16, 2010 at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales following an illness. Lauteria was born July 23, 1922 in Los Ojitos, NM (North of Lake Sumner) the daughter of Adolpho and Regina Lopez. She attended school at Los Ojitos and Alamo. Lauteria married Florentino Sena in September 1963 at Fort Sumner; he preceded her in death in 1966. She married Thomas Pacheco in 1966; he preceded her in death in 1990. Lauteria made her home in Littlefield, TX for several years where she worked as a clerk at a clothing store. She also worked cleaning homes. She made her home in Fort Sumner where she worked as a caretaker for the Dunn family from 1973-1977. She made Fort Sumner her permanent home in 1990. Lauteria was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. She loved to sew, embroidery, crocheting, attending garage sales and talking on the phone with her family and friends. Lauteria was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a daughter Teresa Sena in 1947; a son Adolfo Serna in 1950 and a sister Deluvina Lopez Garcia in 2008. Survivors include five daughters Mary Madrid and husband Alex of Fort Sumner; Sally Pacheco of Caldwell, Idaho; Lydia Moreno and husband Rudy of Lubbock, TX; Victoria Estrada and husband David of Littlefield, TX; Teresa Ramirez and Joe of Portales, NM; three sisters Rita Baca and husband Adan of Fort Sumner; Celia Martinez of Fort Sumner; Lucy Gonzales and J.D. of Albuquerque; three brothers Joe Lopez and wife Rita of Belen; Sam Lopez of Santa Rosa; Boni Lopez and Lisa of Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, April 18, 2010 from St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner with Steve Gallegos and Juan Chavez leading the prayers. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM from St. Anthony Parish with Father Steve Sanchez officiating, burial at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include David Estrada Jr., Ricky Moreno, Jeff Pacheco, Ryan Drake, Vincent Rodriguez II, Randy Martinez, Billy Rodriguez and Vincent Rodriguez. Honorary bearers will be all her grand and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home and Monday from 10AM to 11AM at the church.
