George J. Sena Jr., 39 a lifelong Fort Sumner resident died Friday, February 3, 2006 at Plains Regional Medical Center following a long illness. George was born October 30, 1966 in Fort Sumner. He is the son of George and Gloria (Maes) Sena. George was raised and attended school in Fort Sumner. He loved to draw, and always made handmade birthday cards for his family. He enjoyed reading about political history, watching wrestling on TV, spending time with his aunt Theresa and reading his Bible. George suffered from Osteo Malatia and Renal Tubular Acidosis all his life. He never let his illness get in the way of his great sense of humor and his love for his family and friends. George was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents Reymundo and Inez Sena and his Maternal grandparents Juan and Emelia Maes. George was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Survivors include his parents George and Gloria Sena of Fort Sumner; a brother Tomas Sena and wife Glenda of Fort Sumner and a nephew Tomas Sena Jr. Also surviving are his aunts Theresa Maes, Ellen Lopez, Ricki Guana, Viola Gutierrez, Celina Lopez, Benerita Roybal, Manuela Nieto, Odilia Marrujo, and Vicki Salguero; uncles Dionisio Maes, Eloy Sena, Daniel Sena, and a host of cousins other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2006 from St. Anthony Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 from the church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leonard Maestas, Bobby Sena, Oscar Arroyos, Danny Zamora, David Lopez, Peter Madero, Bill Rives and Aurelio Lopez.
