Aurora Garcia

Aurora Garcia, age 86, passed away on December 8, 2009 at the Pueblo Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pueblo Colorado. Aurora was born on November 12, 1923 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Andres and Martinita Chavez Moncallo. She made her home in Pueblo, Colorado 6 years ago. Aurora was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she was involved in all church activities including the Altar Society and Las Hijas de Maria (50’ plus). She worked for St. Rose School as a cook for many years until the school was shut down. After she worked at the Holiday Inn until she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Esteban Garcia, Sr, her sons; Eloy Moncayo and Daniel Garcia, sister and brothers; Refugito Garcia, Andres Moncayo, Genaro Moncayo, Pablo Moncayo and Florencio Moncayo. Survivors include her three sons; Maguin Garcia and wife Filomena of Pubelo, CO, Esteban Garcia and wife Betty of Albuquerque, Frank Garcia of Amarillo, TX, step daughters; Alice Gallegos and Bennie Griego of Santa Rosa, stepson; Desi Garcia of Albuquerque. 34 grandchildren; and numerous great grand children and great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Friday, December 11, at 10:00 am from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 11:00 AM with Father Joseph Thomas officiating. Burial will take place St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Silver Chavez, Jeffery Chavez, Charles Garcia, Ambrossio Garcia, Milton Gallegos, Steve Gallegos and Derrick Chavez.
