Maxcy V. Hisel, 88, of Fort Sumner died Friday, November 19, 1999 at the Pecos Valley Care Center. Maxcy was born in Oshkosh, Nebraska to the home of Pleasant B. Hisel and the former Mamie Roushkalb. He was raised and attended school at Yeso, NM. Maxcy owned and operated a service station in Yeso, as well as rental property in Roswell. He moved and lived in Missouri for 38 years where he had a small ranch. After retiring he returned to Fort Sumner in 1996. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; M. C. Hisel and Glen W. Hisel. Maxcy is survived by two sisters; Pearl Haggard of Oklahoma City, OK and Robertice Hobbs of Waxachachie, TX. Also surviving and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday November 21, 1999 at the Fort Sumner Cemetery with Mr. George B. Hisel Officiating. Visitation will held on Sunday, November 21, 1999 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home prior to the services. All arrangements entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner. (505) 355-2311.
