Charlie Z. Sena, 62, a lifelong resident of Fort Sumner, passed away on July 4, 2001 at his home. Mr. Sena worked in construction and was a carpenter. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner and attended Fort Sumner Schools as a child. He enjoyed gardening, riding his scooter and raising animals. Mr. Sena was a loving son, brother and uncle and is survived by four sisters: Mary Velarde and husband, Paul, and Delia Gutierrez, all of Albuquerque; Dora Aragon and Josie S. Baca, both of Clovis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-Pete Sena, Jr.; a sister – Frances Sena and three brothers-in-law: James Baca, Steve Gutierrez and Arsenio Aragon. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 8 at 7 P.M. and Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, July 9 at 10 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Cremation has taken place, burial of cremains will following the service at the family plot in the Fort Sumner Cemetery.. Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner is in charge of arrangements.
