James Hubert Peelle, 78 a longtime Clovis, NM resident died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999 at the V.A. Medical Center in Amarillo following an extended illness. Mr. Peelle was born July 17, 1921 in Spokane, WA to the home of James H. Peelle and the former Mabel Ressler. He married Mary De La Paz Casaus at the Fort Sumner Air Base in 1945. Mr. Peelle was employed for 18 years at John Parker Motors and later worked as a mechanic for Clovis Body Shop for 14 years. He volunteered as a crossing guard for the Clovis Police Department for several years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Clovis. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary on October 23, 1999 and three brothers. Survivors include a son Dennis Peelle of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren Miguel, Marvin, Emily, A.J., and Raymond Peelle, and Victoria Biegas all of Clovis; three great grandchildren Jasmine, and Maranda Peelle and Jordana Biegas. A rosary will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. with burial at St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Miguel, Peelle, Raymond Peelle, A.J. Peelle, Raymond Sena, Gene Sena, Robert Bell, Edward Sanchez, and Adolph Sanchez Jr. Visitation will be Thursday from 1pm to 4pm at Chavez Funeral Home and Friday at from 9am to 10am at the church. All arrangements entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.
