Remigio S. Cordova, 88, a lifelong resident of La Loma, NM died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at his home following an illness. Mr. Cordova was born August 19, 1921 in Anton Chico, the son of Fidel Cordova and the former Aurelia Sandoval. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps and the C F & I in Pueblo, CO. Mr. Cordova was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from October 5, 1942 until his honorable discharge on August 22, 1945. He served in North Africa, Palermo and Liverpool. He was preceded in death by his wife Eloisa M. Cordova on July 29, 2003; his parents; two brothers Fidel Cordova Jr., and Nick Cordova Sr., a sister Aurelia Marquez and an infant son. Survivors include two sons Louie Cordova of Anton Chico; David Cordova and wife Dolores of Anton Chico; two daughters Rachel Cordova and Becky Cordova both of Dilia, NM; a step-son Gilbert Warwick of Pueblo, CO; a step-daughter Valerie Welch of Pueblo, CO; two sisters Liz Otero of Pueblo, CO; a brother-in-law Isidro Marquez of Tucumcari, NM; two sisters-in-law Terry Cordova of Clovis and Adelaida Maestas of Anton Chico. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two very close friends Severiano Griego of Anton Chico and Floyd Trujillo of Pueblo, CO; along with a host of other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, November 27, 2009 from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Mass will be celebrated from the church at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 28, 2009 with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Anton Chico. Pallbearers will be Adam Cordova, Remi Cordova, Louie Valenzuela, Caleb Jones, Bobby Nevarrez, Kenny Rupert, Alex Welch and Jorden Warwick. Honorary bearers will be Severiano Griego, Bobby Otero, Juan Cordova, Danny Montano, Sonny Maestas and Danny Cordova. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
