Jennie Lee Triplett 87, of Fort Sumner, NM and formerly of Farmington died Friday, February 17, 2006 at Laurel Ridge Care Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Jennie was born October 1, 1918 in Memphis, Texas the daughter of Luther John McKenzie and the former Nancy Elizabeth Willis. She married was raised at Muleshoe and Sudan, TX. Jennie attended school at Sudan and Floydada, TX, she graduated from Farmington High School. Jennie married William Olen Triplett on May 15, 1938 at Aztec, NM. They were active in the San Juan County 4-H for many years and Jennie served on the San Juan County Fair Board. She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at Central Baptist Church (Highlands Baptist) for many years. She was always willing to help anyone and always offered a place to stay, never turning anyone away. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Jennie and Olen made their home in Fort Sumner in 1997. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband William Olen Triplett on June 24, 2002; a son Troy Olen Triplett in 1998; five brothers Odell, Edell, Keith, Rance, and Luther John; and three sisters Eula Kuykendal, Etta Mae Kuykendal, Elizabeth “Beth” Triplett. Survivors include a son Duane Triplett and wife Beverly of Waterflow, NM; a daughter Jean Bixler of Fort Sumner, NM; a daughter-in-law Dale Triplett of Hesperus, Colorado; one sister Christine Davis of Walla Walla, WA; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 from Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, New Mexico. Pallbearers will include Darrell Triplett, Andrew Dean, James Bodine, Billy Roberts, Hud Silva, Joe Livingston. Honorary bearers will be Cliff Bowen, Scott Bodine, and Clay Schricker.
