Albert Lopez

Albert Lopez, age 50, passed away on January 25, 2010 at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Albert was born on May 29, 1959 in Vaughn, NM to the home of Rumaldo and Ines Serrano Lopez. He was reared and attended schools in Vaughn. Albert loved his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed dancing, going to the casinos and listening to music. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Valentin, Sr. and Theresa Lopez, Juan and Sencionita Serrano, Miguel and Augustina Sandoval, his uncles; Leroy Madrid, Gregorio Baca, Juan Martinez and Mike Sandoval, Aunts; Amelia Madril, Nora Baca, Lala Martinez and Lilly Sandoval. Survivors include his parents, Rumaldo and Ines Lopez of Vaughn, his children; Albert Joseph Lopez and Dayna Griego, grandchildren; Alyssa Lopez, Jasmin Griego, and Isiah Lopez, brother and sisters; Tommy Lopez, Helen Sisneros and husband Andy of Vaughn, Tina Apodaca and husband Billy Joe of Clovis, Rosella and Bobby of Vaughn and Jane Sanchez and husband Richard of Clovis. Also surviving are his uncles and aunts; Lupe Lopez and wife Linda, Valentin Lopez, Jr. and wife Helen, Horacio Lopez and wife Patsy, Daniel Lopez and wife Jeaneatte, Joe Madril, Martha Archibeque and husband George, Maria Lopez, Joann Chavez and husband Gilbert and Rita Madrid as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends, and special friends; Irene Sanchez, and and ex wife; Nancy Lopez, friend; Tina Griego, step daughter Sabrina Gonzalez and her children Unique and Aja. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, at 7:00 PM from St. Mary’s Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2010 from St. Mary's Parish with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Pallbearers will include Lawrence Padilla, Jr., Billy Joe Apodaca, Richard Sanchez, Alex Rael, Richard Sanchez, Jr., and Bobby Marez. Honorary Pallbearers include Andy Sisneros, Jonathan Padilla, his nieces, nephews and friends. All services for Mr. Lopez have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
