Anita S. Lopez

Anita S. Lopez, 79 a lifelong Santa Rosa, NM resident died Saturday, April 01, 2006 at her home following an illness. Anita was born May 20, 1926 in Santa Rosa to the home of Jose Dolores and Sofia Gallegos Salas. She was reared and attended school in Santa Rosa. She worked as a motel housekeeper and at the Pecos Theatre. She was preceded in death by her husband Miguel Lopez, two sisters Ramona Ulibarri and Mary Rivera; four brothers Estanislado, J.D., Mike, and Joe Salas. Anita was a loving and caring mother. She is survived by a son Michael Lopez of Albuquerque; a daughter Wanda Lopez and son-in-law Jose Salazar of Santa Rosa along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Chavez Funeral Home; a second rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Bruce Lopez, Jerry Rivera, George Rivera, Marcos Salas, Chris Griego, and Steve Griego. Honorary bearers will be all her relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday and Monday from 1pm to 6pm at the funeral home and Tuesday from 9am to 10am at the church.
