Juanita Romo

Juanita Romo, age 84, passed away on December 31, 2009 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following an illness. Juanita was born on May 25, 1925 in Villanueva, NM to the home of Bruno and Silverina Olguin Romo. She was reared in Anton Chico. Juanita made her home in Santa Rosa in 1963. She was a caretaker to many for several years. She took care of all her family, especially her mother. She enjoyed cooking and was a jack of all trades. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother in law, Dulcinea and Hilario Aragon, her brother; Ramon Romo, nephews; Joe B. Aragon, Benito Aragon, Rick Aragon, Ramon Romo and Ricky Romo. Survivors include her children; Jose Eddie Romo, Maggie Cordova and husband Steven and Adela Romo all of Santa Rosa. Her sisters; Victoria Romo of Santa Rosa and Virginia Romo of Clovis. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Helen Cordova, Onofre Cordova, Edward Romo, James Rodarte, Trinnie Rodarte and Xavier Rodarte, 13 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of realtives and friends. Rosary services were held on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 7:00 PM from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM also from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial followed in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Her grandchildren served as pallbearers, serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her nieces and nephews.
