Bill Crenshaw

Bill Crenshaw, 90 of Taiban, NM passed away February 9, 2006 at the Farwell Convalescent Home in Farwell, TX. Bill was born June 28, 1915 in Melrose, NM to William J. Crenshaw and the former Retta Moss. Bill was raised south of Melrose, NM and attended schools at Melrose and Floyd where he graduated. Bill married Mildred Alice Wright on August 12, 1936 in Melrose, NM. Bill worked on ranches in areas around Melrose, then moved to Cruel, Texas and worked for a while before retiring to Melrose. In 1946 he purchased a ranch south of Taiban where he lived until 2002. Bill enjoyed ranch work, fishing, and sports. Bill was raised in the Baptist faith and attended church in Fort Sumner. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Acea B. Crenshaw and Frank Crenshaw. Survivors include his wife of 69 years Mildred Crenshaw; a son Billy Crenshaw and wife Sylvia of Taiban; three grandchildren Wilann Griego and husband Jim of Portales; Becky Shafer of Portales, Glen Crenshaw and wife Willene of Taiban; five great-grandchildren Krystle Barton and husband Bart of Clovis; Devan Griego of Portales; Kenna Shafer of Portales; Blake and La Nay Crenshaw of Taiban; two great-great-grandchildren Reagan and Trey Barton of Clovis; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2006 from the Fort Sumner Cemetery with Buddy Hall officiating. Pallbearers will be Glen Crenshaw, Blake Crenshaw, Jim Griego, Bart Barton, Jacky Gorden, and Joe Castillo. Visitation will be Saturday from 1pm to 6pm and Sunday from 10 am until service time.
