Paublita R. Moncallo, 94 of Santa Rosa, NM died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Guadalupe County Medical Center following an illness. She was born March 28, 1913 in Puerto De Luna the daughter of Santiago Romero and the former Anastacia Chavez. She attended school at Puerto De Luna and Corona, NM. Paublita married Jesus Moncallo on July 18, 1931 in Santa Rosa. She was a housewife and a homemaker. Mrs. Moncallo was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, 50’s Plus Club, Campos Senior Citizen Center, Santa Rosa Quilting Club and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Leandro Moncayo in 1974, an infant daughter Helen Moncayo; five grandchildren Larry Moncayo, Debbie Salazar, Cindy Salazar, Jimmy Moncallo, Mark Salazar, Gary Moncayo, Ronald Moncayo and a sister Mercedes Gallegos. Survivors include her husband of 76 years Jesus Moncallo of the home in Santa Rosa; three sons Abel Moncallo of Sunnyvale, CA, Gilberto Moncayo and wife Patricia of Albuquerque, NM, and Chio Moncayo and wife Lucille of Santa Rosa, NM; three daughters Anicia M. Campos of Santa Rosa, NM, Mabel Cordova and husband Pete of Santa Rosa, NM, Elvie Lowery and husband Mike of Novato, CA; one brother, Santiago Romero of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2007 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass will be celebrated from the church on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Leon, Nathan, Daryl, Peter, Dylan and Mario. Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
