Gloria CdeBaca

Gloria Maria Michelle CdeBaca, age 60, passed away at the Vida Encantada Nursing Center in Las Vegas on April 5, 2009. Gloria was born April 3, 1949 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Luis and Anelia (Padilla) CdeBaca. She was reared in Newkirk. Gloria attended Eastern New Mexico Services for the Handicapped for several years. She participated in the Special Olympics where she won numerous bowling trophies and was the Sweetheart Ball Queen. Gloria loved writing, listening to soap operas with her Aunt Adela Lopez, she loved to do Latch Work, make pot holders, she loved the latest styles of clothing and wore new colors of the season, she loved to dance and most of all music was her favorite. Gloria is preceded in death by her grandparents; Francisco and Anjelita Padilla, Luis Sr, and Florentina CdeBaca, her Uncle and Aunts Frank Padilla, Adela Lopez, Estanislado Lopez, Alfonso Padilla, Robert DeBaca, her niece; Mary Rita Lucero and her nephew; Jerry Luis Lucero. Survivors include her parents; Luis and Anelia CdeBaca of the family home in Newkirk, brothers and sisters; Rita Lucero of Coppell, TX, Thomas CdeBaca and wife Gail of Albuquerque, Christian CdeBaca and wife Terry of Albuquerque, Joseph CdeBaca and wife Rosa of Artesia, NM and Linda Martinez of Las Cruces, NM. Nieces and Nephews; Eric CdeBaca, Carrie Ann CdeBaca, Richard Lujan, Christian Gilbert CdeBaca, Melanie Mote, Julia Ann Hamilton and husband Eric, Derek Martinez, Mariah Martinez, Gabrielle Martinez and Chase Nathaniel Lucero. Rosary services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery in Puerto de Luna. Serving as Pallbearers will be Aaron Perez, Thomas CdeBaca, Christian G. CdeBaca, Joseph CdeBaca, Eric CdeBaca, Christian Gilbert CdeBaca and Derek Martinez. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
