Leroy Quintana Jr.

Leroy Quintana, Jr. (Boo Boo), age 18, passed away on November 9th 2008 in Santa Rosa. Boo Boo as he was affectionately known was born on September 15, 1990 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Leroy and Christine Quintana. Boo Boo loved working with his dad on cars and in various jobs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, talking with his mom on the way to school, watching movies and listening to music. He also enjoyed spending his summers at the Blue Hole and skateboarding with his brother and close friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his grandfather; Placido Quintana, Jr. his uncles; David Quintana, Magdaleno Quintana, a cousin Merlinda Villanueva and great grandfather Alejandro Bachicha. Survivors include his parents, Leroy and Christine Quintana of the family home in Santa Rosa, four brothers; Curtis Cooper and wife Kristen of Virginia, Jay Cooper of Clovis, Adam Cann of Santa Rosa, Christopher of Texas, one sister Sara and boyfriend Eric of Las Vegas, NM. Also surviving is his grandmother Helen Quintana of Dahlia; his "Nina" Cecilia Quintana and Lorenzo Romero of Santa Rosa, Aunts and Uncles; Virginia and husband Leroy Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM, Lisa Lucero and husband Roy of Tecolotito, Mary Helen Chavez and husband Andrew of Albuquerque and Lucille Quintana of Roswell,Orlando Quintana of Albuquerque, Daniel Quintana of Dahlia, one niece and three nephews, numerous cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held of Thursday, November 13, at 6:00 PM from St. Joseph Church in Anton Chico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 14, at 10:00 AM also from St. Joseph Church with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Burial will follow at the Dahlia Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Lorenzo Romero, Lorenzo Lucero, Jonathon Lucero, Joe Quintana, Randy Quintana, Adam Quintana. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesus (Chuy) Granado, Raul (Duds) Granado and Eric Villanueva. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. www.chavezfuneralhome.com
