Raymond Saiz

Raymond Moises Saiz, age 50, passed away on March 26, 2009 at an Albuquerque Hospital following a sudden illness. Raymond was born on January 14, 1959 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Adelaido and Dolores (Barela) Saiz. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. He married Virginia Nancy Gallegos on July 14, 1987 in Albuquerque. Raymond worked construction for many years. He loved to paint, work on cars, do arts and crafts, go to flea markets, watch movies and was a collector of all sorts of stuff. Raymond and Nancy made their home in Los Lunas, NM for the past 22 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ann Torres; maternal grandfather, Escolastico Barela and paternal grandparents, Eufelia and Abel Saiz. Survivors include his wife Virginia Saiz of the family home in Los Lunas, NM; children, Amanda Rae Saiz and Moises Escolastico Saiz of Los Lunas; his grandmother, Esmeralda Barela; brothers and sisters, Gilbert Saiz, Jane Saiz, Mary Saiz, Francis Ulibarri, Dolores Coronado, Joe Saiz, Joann Gallegos, Robert Saiz, Lorenzo Saiz, Tina Lopez and Anabelle Saiz. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joe Saiz, Robert Saiz, Robert Saiz, Jr., Eloy Marquez, Vincent Raymond and Jimmy Jaramillo.
