Nolan Gene Billy, age 66, passed away December 14, 2005 at his residence following an illness. Gene was born January 6, 1939 in Finley, OK to the home of Elliston and Ruth Flowers Billy. He was raised and attended schools in Springer, NM. He was a member of the Springer Fire Department and the Springer Jaycees. Gene made his home in Santa Rosa in 1977. Gene loved wood carving and was especially proud of his Choctow Heritage. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters; Evelyn Billy, Carolyn Billy Martinez, brothers; Joe Billy and Elton Billy, mother and father in law; Eduardo and Marcella Baca. Survivors include his wife Gloria Billy of Santa Rosa, his daughter Meagen Billy of Santa Rosa, sons; Randy Hager and wife Marie, William Hager all of Avondale, AZ, grandsons; Seth Hager and Jake Hager brother; George Buddy Billy of Springer, sister; Carrie West of Capitan, NM, brother in law; Gene Martinez of Denver, CO, nephew; Craig Martinez of Denver, CO, nieces; Dana Parker and husband Mike of St.Petersburg, FL, Monica Martinez of Denver, CO, uncle and aunt; Joe and Tommie Lopez of Springer. Also surviving is a special friend Evelyn Parrack of Amarillo, TX along with a host of family and friends. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 16, at 2:00 PM from St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Serving as Pallbearers will be Dennis Baca, Robert Baca, Edward Baca, Gene Martinez, Craig Martinez and Timothy Baca. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
