Faye Carter Pruitt

Faye C. Pruitt 77 died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at her home north of Melrose, NM following an illness. Faye was born February 17, 1932 in Melrose, NM to the home of Edward Livingston Carter and the former Nina Maie Payne. She was reared in the Rock Lake Community and attended school at Melrose. Faye married Neil Pruitt in 1948 at Clovis, NM. She was a member of the Melrose Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father Edward in 1988; mother Nina in 1996; a sister Dorthy Dean Sparks in 2007, a brother Don L. Carter in 2008 and a brother-in-law Keith Pruitt. Survivors include her husband Neil Pruitt of Melrose; a son Ronald Neil Pruitt of Lovington, NM; daughter Sue McCall and husband Howard of Albuquerque; one sister Lola Mae Coffey of Melrose; six grandsons Adam Neil Pruitt and Daniel Alan Pruitt both of Las Cruces; Brent Eugene McCall and wife Paige of Lubbock, TX; Scott Alan McCall and wife Amy of Albuquerque; Kevin Neil McCall and wife Kirsten of Moriarty, NM and Brad Deon McCall and wife Jordan of Amarillo, TX. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, a sister in law Peggy Fletcher and husband Dick of Midland, TX; three brothers-in-law Mickey Don Pruitt and wife Alice of Huntsville, Alabama; Jerry Pat Pruitt and wife Jan of Roswell, NM and Terry Lynn Pruitt and wife Tina of Evanston, Wyoming along with many nieces, nephews a host of other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Monday from noon until service time at the Melrose Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2009 from the Melrose Church of Christ with Mr. Otho Rogers and Brent McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Adam Neil Pruitt, Daniel Alan Pruitt, Brent Eugene McCall, Kevin Neil McCall, Scott Alan McCall and Brad Deon McCall.
