Eva Casaus, 85 of Fort Sumner, NM died Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Arbor Creek Care Center in Albuquerque following an illness. She was born June 29, 1920 at Borica, NM to the home of Enriques and Natividad Garcia. She was raised in Guadalupe County. Eva loved to dance, listen to spanish music and being with her family. She was a lifelong Catholic. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Alfonso in 1996; and a brother Emilio Garcia in 2005. Survivors include five daughters, Nellie Oldham and husband Dennis of Albuquerque; Geraldine Minton and husband Bucky of Fort Sumner; Helen Martinez of Albuquerque; Gloria Landreth and husband Bryan of Seattle, Washington; and Theresa Rivera of Clovis; six sons Sonny Casaus and wife Bertina of Albuquerque; Billy Casaus and wife Lucille of Santa Rosa; Leroy Casaus of Santa Rosa; Ernesto Casaus of Albuquerque; Andy Casaus and wife Joann of Albuquerqeu; and Clyde VanOsdol of Gallup. Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006 with Father Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Casaus, Jimmy Casaus, Donald Casaus, Arthur Martinez, Bill Casaus Jr., and Dominic Casaus.
