Paublin R. Romero, age 65, passed away suddenly October 18, 2005 at his residence in Milagro. Paublin was born August 8, 1939 in Pastura, NM to the home of Paublin and Cleotilde Armijo Romero. He was reared in Pastura and Milagro. Paublin married Emma Martinez on September 26, 1959 in Santa Rosa. He worked as a ranch hand for the different ranches in the area. He was a horse trainer and a Jockey. He enjoyed the horse races and worked at the Santa Fe Downs for several years. Paublin was also a "water witcher" and had a gift for locating water underground. Numerous ranchers would come to ask Paublin for help in locating water and he would always find it. Paublin was preceded in death by his father Paublin Romero, Sr. his sisters; Dora Garnand, Bennie Tapia and Lydia Encinias, brother; Isidro Romero and an infant brother and sister. Survivors include his wife Emma Romero of the family home in Milagro, his daughter Joyce Romero of Chicago, Illinois, his mother Cleotilde Romero of Santa Rosa, brothers and sisters; Rita Muniz and husband Leo of Milagro, Soledad Saiz and husband Henry of Fort Sumner, Joel Johnson and husband Bill of Santa Rosa, Pete Romero of Milagro, Trinidad Romero and wife Christine of Santa Rosa, Greg Romero of Santa Rosa, Will Romero and wife Rhonda of Herford, TX, Leroy Bonney and wife Darlene of Santa Rosa. Also suriving is his mother in lawAlbina M. Martinez of San Ignacio, his Brother and sisters in Law; Jose F.Martinez, Jr. of San Ignacio, Rose Galvan and husband Arthur of Dallas, TX, Roman Martinez and wife Odelia of Santa Rosa, Jimmy Martinez and wife Marsha of Albuquerque, Rudy Madrid and wife Martha of Denver, CO, Eli Madrid and wife Bea of San Ignacio, Herman Martinez and wife Debbie of Santa Rosa and Ted Martinez and wife Angie of Santa Rosa as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of realtives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Friday, October 21, at 6:00 PM from St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, at 11:00 AM from Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Milagro with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery also in Milagro. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
